The Light I Thought I Had Lost
There’s a part of my story I’ve rarely shared. Not because I wanted to keep it secret, but because for a long time, I couldn’t even bear to look at it.
For years, I’ve spoken about spiritual awakening, energy healing, and Light — helping others remember who they are. And yet, somewhere inside me, there was still a quiet ache.
A grief I couldn’t quite name.
It was the grief of having left behind a life that once defined me — a life rooted in science and medicine, in the structure and logic of clinical research.
It was also the fatigue that no amount of rest could fix — the silent nervous system collapse that dimmed my joy and silenced my own soul gifts.
And then, on 7 November 2025 — a date I will never forget — something within me shifted.
I woke up.
Not to another spiritual layer, but to a deeper truth: that I never had to choose between science and spirit, logic and Light. Both are part of who I am. Both are sacred.
That morning, I felt as though a new chapter of my mission on this planet had just begun — a merging of all the worlds I love.
And I want to take you with me.
In this post, I’ll share how my first awakening led me here — what burnout truly is, how nervous system dysregulation can quietly block your expansion, and how healing the body’s rhythm opens the way for your soul gifts to shine again.
I’ll also speak about the grief that lived inside me — the pain of making a choice that wasn’t yet fully aligned with what my Soul had planned — and the beauty that came from finally seeing it with compassion.
Together, we’ll explore:
What burn-out really is — both scientifically and energetically
How nervous system dysregulation shows up and blocks your gifts
And how you can begin to heal — so your Soul can rise, your voice can emerge, and your light can move freely through you again.

1. What is Burn-Out: Beyond “just tired”
Burn-out is far more than “feeling tired.”It is a chronic state of stress, exhaustion, and depletion that touches the mind, the body, and the spirit.
Scientific research describes burn-out as the result of long-term exposure to stressors — often professional or emotional — that gradually lead to physical exhaustion, mental fatigue, emotional detachment, and a loss of meaning or purpose in one’s work or life (PMC).
But beneath those scientific terms lies something even deeper: the body’s sacred alarm system calling for change.
✧ When the Nervous System Forgets How to Rest
From a biological perspective, one of the first systems affected is the autonomic nervous system (ANS) — the internal network that keeps your heart beating, your breath steady, and your digestion flowing.
In a healthy body, this system naturally oscillates between sympathetic activation (our “fight or flight” response) and parasympathetic recovery (our “rest and digest” state).
During periods of chronic stress, that rhythm breaks. The sympathetic system becomes dominant — the body remains in a constant state of alert, flooded with the chemistry of survival — while the parasympathetic system, which brings calm and repair, struggles to activate.
Even when there’s no visible danger, the body behaves as though there is. You may look composed on the outside, yet inside, your cells are whispering: “I’m still in danger.”
Over time, this imbalance leads to exhaustion, anxiety, emotional numbness, or the sense that your body simply cannot “switch off” (PMC).
✧ When the Stress Hormone System Collapses
Next, the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis — the delicate communication between your brain and adrenal glands — becomes dysregulated. This axis manages cortisol, the hormone that helps you respond to stress.
In burn-out, cortisol rhythms shift. For some, cortisol stays too high for too long, keeping the body in a permanent state of tension; for others, it becomes chronically low, leaving the system depleted and unable to mobilize energy when needed.
When this stress cycle continues unchecked, it can ripple through your immune system, hormonal balance, and even your emotional stability. What begins as emotional exhaustion often manifests physically — as insomnia, inflammation, digestive discomfort, hormonal changes, or weakened immunity (PubMed).
✧ When the Brain Enters Survival Mode
Even the brain itself begins to adapt to chronic stress. Neuroimaging studies show that prolonged burn-out can cause both structural and functional changes in key regions of the brain — those involved in attention, emotion regulation, memory, and decision-making.
The prefrontal cortex (responsible for focus and planning) becomes less active. The amygdala (our emotional alarm center) becomes overactive. And the hippocampus (which supports memory and learning) can actually shrink in size.
As a result, you may find it hard to focus, make decisions, remember details, or stay emotionally balanced.
You might feel like you’re thinking through fog, or living behind a glass wall — present, yet disconnected from yourself and others. In spiritual terms, this is the moment when the mind and body stop communicating clearly with the Soul.
The channel between your heart’s wisdom and your higher knowing feels blocked, even if your intention remains pure (Association for Psychological Science).
✧ Burn-out as the Body’s Cry for Safety
In sum, burn-out is not “just being overworked.”
It is a deep physiological and energetic event — a full-body signal that your nervous system, hormones, and brain have reached their limits.
It’s the body’s way of saying: “I can’t hold this level of pressure anymore. Please, let’s return to safety.”
And yet, hidden within that collapse is a sacred invitation — the first whisper of transformation.
Because when the body can no longer sustain survival mode, it begins calling you back to what is true, simple, and essential: your natural rhythm, your breath, your light, your Soul.
1.1 What Burn-out Really Is Energetically
On an energetic level, burn-out is not simply exhaustion — it is the Soul’s cry for recalibration.
It happens when your inner light keeps trying to move through systems — physical, emotional, or energetic — that are no longer able to hold its frequency.
At its core, burn-out is a disconnection from the rhythm of Life itself.
It occurs when you give, strive, and create from pressure rather than pleasure; when your nervous system is constantly in vigilance, but your Soul is whispering, “slow down, remember.”
Energetically, burn-out can express itself as:
The heart field closing from too much unreciprocated giving.
The solar plexus collapsing from over-responsibility and lack of rest.
The throat tightening from unspoken truth and self-suppression.
The third eye dimming when intuition is ignored in favor of logic and control.
The root and sacral centers losing flow — when safety and joy are sacrificed for survival or perfectionism.
It is not a punishment — it’s an initiation into embodiment. The Soul withdraws light temporarily so you can feel what needs to be healed, loved, and reclaimed.
When you begin regulating your nervous system and softening your body, that light returns — not as the same energy you once knew, but as a refined, wiser frequency ready to flow through you in service, joy, and truth.
Burn-out is not the end of your path — it’s the threshold between survival and awakening.
2. Nervous System Dysregulation: The Hidden Block to Your Gifts
When your nervous system is dysregulated, you’re not just physically fatigued — you’re energetically locked in survival mode, what makes it almost impossible to connect to your true talents and gifts.
For years I didn’t realize that nervous system dysregulation was silently blocking my ability to create and express my soul gifts.
Burn-out is not just exhaustion — it’s a physiological state that limits the body’s capacity to hold light and expansion.
As I began healing my nervous system dysregulation, my creativity and soul gifts reawakened naturally.
2.1 What nervous system dysregulation looks like
Elevated heart rate, decreased heart-rate variability (HRV) (a sign that the parasympathetic system is under-functioning). (PMC)
Vagal dysfunction / inhibited vagal tone (the vagus nerve is key for rest, connection, safety). (sjweh.fi)
Fatigue, brain fog, reduced cognitive performance: a systematic review found that clinical burn-out is associated with impairments in memory, attention, executive functions. (kau.diva-portal.org)
Emotional numbness / reduced emotional reactivity: studies show reduced brain responses to emotional stimuli in burnout. (Frontiers)
The experience of “over-arousal” (sympathetic dominance) or “shutdown” (parasympathetic/dorsal vagal dominance) — either way, the flow of creative expression is blocked.
When burnout fully expressed itself in my life, it showed itself through disconnection — from my emotions, from others, from my own body.
I pulled away from touch and closeness, convinced that the only way to survive was to abandon everything.
It felt as though if I didn’t, I would simply fade away.
2.2 How Burn-out and Nervous System Dysregulation Affect the Expression of Soul Gifts
When your body is in survival mode, it cares only about getting through the next breath. The pathways for creativity, intuition, and emotional connection narrow — not because they’re gone, but because your system is protecting what’s left of your energy.
When you’re in collapse or shutdown (dorsal vagal), you may feel disconnected, inert, too tired to respond to your calling.
Your nervous system’s circuitry is tied to your subtle body, your energetic body, your soul’s field — when it’s stuck in threat-mode, the energetic passages for soul expression shut down.
When attention, memory, executive control are impaired, your ability to organise, deliver, sustain your gifts is compromised. You may know you’re here to channel, to guide, to teach, to heal — but the path feels blocked, foggy, heavy.
You may feel guilt, shame, “I should be further by now,” which adds further stress, feeding the dysregulation cycle.
3. The Science: What the Research Reveals
Modern research is now confirming what many intuitive and energy-based traditions have long known: when the nervous system is dysregulated, every level of our being — physical, emotional, and spiritual — becomes impacted.
Here are some of the most important findings that connect burn-out, nervous system regulation, and our ability to express our Soul Gifts clearly and joyfully.
✧ The Heart as a Mirror of Regulation
A systematic review found that job stress and burn-out are associated with increased heart rate and decreased heart-rate variability (HRV) — a key biomarker of resilience and adaptability (PMC).
HRV measures how quickly your heart can shift between activation (doing) and recovery (resting).
A flexible, high HRV indicates a balanced system that can respond to life’s demands and then return to calm — the foundation of creativity, intuition, and openness. When HRV decreases, it means the nervous system is stuck in survival mode.
The heart no longer communicates fluidly with the brain, and this disconnection often feels like anxiety, fatigue, or emotional flatness.
In energetic terms, your heart field — the bridge between body and Soul — loses coherence, making it harder to stay connected to your natural flow of inspiration.
✧ The Vagus Nerve: Pathway of Calm and Connection
A study titled “Autonomic Dysregulation in Burn-out and Depression” found that people experiencing burn-out show reduced vagal (parasympathetic) activity (Scandinavian Journal of Work, Environment & Health).
The vagus nerve, which connects the brain to the heart, lungs, and digestive system, is one of the primary pathways through which the body experiences safety. It helps regulate breathing, heart rhythm, and emotional expression.
When vagal tone is strong, you feel calm, connected, and able to communicate with presence — both verbally and energetically.
When it’s weakened by chronic stress or trauma, the body loses this sense of inner safety, leading to symptoms such as shallow breathing, emotional reactivity, digestive issues, or even social withdrawal.
From a spiritual perspective, a healthy vagus nerve allows your body to anchor higher frequencies of light — grounding inspiration into tangible creation.
✧ The Cost of a Constant Stress Response
The Harvard Health article “Understanding the Stress Response” explains that repeated activation of the stress response — through ongoing fear, worry, or overexertion — causes long-term changes in both the brain and the body (Harvard Health). When stress hormones like adrenaline and cortisol remain elevated, they alter how the brain processes information, how cells repair themselves, and how emotions are regulated.
In practical terms, this means the body forgets how to stand down.
You may sleep but not rest, meditate but not feel calm, work hard but sense that nothing is ever enough.
Energetically, your system is stuck between acceleration and collapse — the very states that silence intuition, joy, and creativity.
✧ Returning to Safety Through the Body
Trauma-informed and somatic healing resources confirm that the most effective way to restore regulation is through simple, consistent body-based tools: deep breathing, grounding, gentle movement, vagal stimulation (through humming, sighing, or chanting), and mindful awareness of physical sensations.
These practices may appear small, but they speak directly to the nervous system in its own language: rhythm, repetition, and safety.
Each time you pause to breathe, to stretch, to hum, or to feel the ground beneath your feet, you send a message to your body:“You are safe now. You can open again.”
And as the body remembers safety, the Soul remembers expansion.

4. Signs You Might Be Blocking Your Soul Gifts Through Dysregulation
Ask yourself:
Do you feel exhausted, even when you’ve rested?
Do you have trouble accessing your intuitive voice, channelled messages, creative flow?
Do you oscillate between over-doing and shutting-down?
Do you feel fear, guilt or inertia when you think about stepping into your gifts?
Do you struggle with memory, clarity, focus or bringing ideas into form?
Do you feel disconnected from your body, or your energetic field feels “flat,” “foggy,” “heavy”?
If you answer yes to some of these, it may not just be “blocks” or resistance — it may be your nervous system saying: “I’m not safe yet to open fully.”
5. From Dysregulation to Soul Expansion: A Path Forward
Here are somatic-aware, nervous-system-centered practices you can begin — the same principles I’m now bringing into my private sessions and into a new body of work that is slowly being born through me.
It feels almost unbelievable what is unfolding right now.
As I finally release the layers of trauma that were deeply held in my body, I’m being flooded with new ideas and inspirations about how I can serve others through my gifts.
It’s truly miraculous — and that’s why I feel called to share this moment with you.
These tools include the precision of science with the resonance of Light: breathing, grounding, gentle movement, and guided meditations infused with Light Language that directly soothe the vagus nerve, calm the stress response, and expand the energetic field.
5.1 Establish Safety & Regulation
Diaphragmatic/Coherent breathing: e.g., inhale for 4, exhale for 6-8. Helps engage parasympathetic.
Vagal stimulation: hum, slow sigh out, gentle neck stretches, soft cold splash on face — simple but effective.
Grounding / sensory orientation: noticing what you see, hear, touch right now. “Here → now → safe”.
Micro-movement & embodiment: shaking out the body, stretching, slow walking, feeling the feet connect with the earth.
Buffer zones: between high-intensity tasks, allow short pauses to regulate. These gaps allow the nervous system to integrate safety.
Guided meditations infused with Light Language: alongside the above mentioned tools, you can gently regulate your nervous system through guided meditations infused with Light Language. During these sessions, rhythmic breathing and somatic awareness are combined with multidimensional sound frequencies that bypass the analytical mind and communicate directly with the body’s energy field.
The tones and vibrations activate the vagus nerve, calm the sympathetic overdrive, and invite the parasympathetic system to re-engage — restoring balance between safety and expansion. As the body remembers how to relax and the field clears, the heart opens, and your soul’s own language begins to emerge, helping you feel deeply connected, grounded, and safe to express your gifts.
5.2 Cultivating Recovery & Capacity
Monitor your heart-rate variability (HRV) if you wish — as a marker of your nervous system’s capacity to switch into recovery mode.
Build daily rituals of rest, connection, non-doing.
Honour your boundaries: Over-giving or constant doing drains the nervous system; regulated capacity is the foundation for gift-flow.

5.3 Opening to Soul Gifts
Once safety and regulation begin to return, your inner world starts to speak again — softly, authentically. In this space of calm, you can ask your soul:
“What wishes to move through me now? What unique frequency am I here to express?”
Your soul gifts are as diverse as creation itself. They may reveal themselves through:
𓆸 Intuitive and psychic abilities — clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience, channeling, mediumship, or healing.
𓆸 Creative expression — writing, painting, music, voice, or artistic flow.
𓆸 Teaching and communication — translating wisdom, guiding others, or bringing complex truths into simple form.
𓆸 Leadership and service — building communities, organizing projects, holding safe spaces, or leading with compassion.
𓆸 Presence itself — your ability to bring harmony, calm, and love into any environment simply through your energy.
You may explore these gifts through Light Language, sacred geometry, guided meditation, intuitive movement, or creative flow — yet the true activation happens not through effort, but through safety, softness, and trust.
Visualize your nervous system as the living bridge between Heaven and Earth — the vehicle through which your soul’s light flows into form.
As your body heals and your energy regulates, your channel widens naturally.
Trust that your slowing, your integration, your deep rest are not delays — they are the sacred rhythm of your ascension, allowing your gifts to unfold in divine timing.
6. Why This Matters Now
If you feel called to teach, create, guide, or express your gifts — yet something inside feels frozen, unclear, or heavy — you are not alone. This does not mean you are off your path or missing a step. It may simply mean that your nervous system is asking for safety before expansion.
Your soul is whispering:“I am ready to open… but please let my body feel safe first.”
You are not being asked to do more, but to be more — to inhabit your body with gentleness, presence, and grace.
When your system regulates, inspiration flows naturally; you no longer need to force it.
The channel clears, and your creative, intuitive, and spiritual gifts begin to express with ease.
You discover that productivity, visibility, and expansion come not from pressure — but from inner coherence.
When you heal burnout, you don’t simply recover — you rise into a new frequency of embodiment.
You begin to sense the deeper rhythm of your soul: your words carry more light, your work more harmony, your creations more truth.
Flow returns.
Grace returns.
And you realize that healing your nervous system was never separate from awakening your divine purpose.
When I write these words, I’m not speaking as an observer — I’m speaking from lived experience.
I, too, once reached that point where my body could no longer keep up with my spirit’s calling.
For years, I thought my exhaustion meant failure — that something in me was broken, or that I wasn’t strong enough to follow my path.
But what I discovered is that burnout can be a sacred initiation — an invitation to stop pushing and start listening, to realign not only with your purpose but with the nervous system that sustains it.
It’s what happened to me in 2013, when I found myself unable to see any light ahead…

7. My Own Burnout — and the Light That Followed
In 2013, I experienced what I now recognize as a full nervous system collapse — the deepest form of burnout. At the time, I was working in clinical research, immersed in data, protocols, deadlines, and responsibility. I loved science and medicine. I was good at it — truly good. But I was also living disconnected from my body, from my emotions, from the natural rhythm of life.
Slowly, my system began to shut down. What once gave me purpose started to feel like a heavy fog pressing on my chest. I could no longer concentrate, felt numb and detached from joy, and woke up each morning feeling trapped in a life that no longer fit.
Looking back, I see that I was living entirely in a dorsal vagal state — frozen, collapsed, unable to move forward.
At that time, I thought the burnout was a sign that I had to leave science behind forever — that the medical and analytical part of me no longer belonged in my spiritual path. So I walked away from everything I had built. I left my career, the country I was living (Germany), and everything familiar, believing that the only way to heal was to start over completely, to devote myself solely to the spiritual world.
But today — 7 November 2025 — I wake up to a new light.
Alongside it comes the grief I didn’t know was still living inside me — the sorrow of having left behind my old life in science and medicine.
And in allowing myself to feel it, I finally come home to all that I am.
I did not come here to bury my scientific side. I came here to unite it with the spiritual.
To weave the wisdom of nervous system science, somatic healing, and trauma physiology with the language of energy, frequency, and Light.
To show others that there is no separation between biology and divinity — that our bodies are sacred instruments for consciousness, and our nervous system is the bridge that allows Spirit to flow through us.
I feel I came here to help others heal their burnout, to awaken their gifts, and to create work that is both purposeful and sustainable — where passion no longer burns us out, but fuels us in harmony.
This is my rebirth. 🫶 And perhaps, it is yours too. 🌹
